3D Recycling t'Art

Exhibited in 2013 at Cupola Contemporary Art, Sheffield (and virtually at Spaza Gallery Johannesburg) in ‘Kilter Kelter’/‘Take Takataka’ and also in 2010 in ‘it’s not Funny’ at Map Gallery, Leeds.

* Tree for a triathlete. A weird tree indeed. Composed from inner tubes and of course the materials also refer to swimming and running as well as cycling.
A Bouquet of non-naff plastic flowers. Hand sewn from thrown - away plastics. Initially made for workshops commemorating the opening (‘Hello’) of The Hepworth art Gallery, Wakefield and the closure ('Goodbye’) of Wakefield art Gallery,West Yorkshire.
Are you feeling birdy?
Wearable birds commissioned by ‘See Leeds‘ for workshops in the town Centre, 2013. This aviary enabled the public to ‘make a tweet’ of themselves in the street and on social media. In order of size : a swivel head parrot ( Polly Took all the credit), The Umber-eagle ( or is she an eagle- brella ?!) , Pigeon -cap, blackbird -bangle, woodpecker leg- warmer, Blue-tit glove. There’s also a ‘tree creeper’ arm -warmer and a wren- ring!
Used to tell all manner of bird - stories.
Made to raise money for MIND, It’s a swear box and when hung on the wall at Halifax Building Society head office ,Leeds in 2006 it raised huge sums.Mind your language ( or don't !?).
He is blue and maybe toxic.
A hat stand made from yes you guessed it! now obsolete supermarket physalis (cape gooseberry) small, plastic packing crates. The stand is used in school workshops and window displays. The fruity- birdie headdress was used along with the attached clip-on earrings in a Carmen Miranda fancy dress outfit..
The masks are used in sensory -school drawing workshops.
Commissioned as examples for children to be inspired by for an outside installation (using specific discarded plastics) on school railings at Rufford park primary school, west Yorkshire.
Whopper butterflies, moths, caterpillar and dragonfly ….
